BHMS Course
BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) is a 5.5-year undergraduate medical degree. It trains students in holistic, homeopathic healing. The curriculum consists conventional medical sciences with homeopathic philosophy divided into 4 parts 18 months each & one-year compulsory internship, preparing graduates to become licensed medical practitioners.
The syllabus is structured sequentially by year:
1st Year BHMS (18 Months)
- Anatomy, Histology & Embryology: Human structure, organs, regional anatomy.
- Human Physiology & Biochemistry: Cellular physiology, bodily systems, and biochemical processes.
- Homoeopathic Pharmacy: Principles of drug preparation, dispensing, and pharmacopoeia.
- Organon of Medicine, Homoeopathic Philosophy & Psychology: Foundations of homeopathic logic and basic psychology.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica: Introduction to the fundamental properties of homeopathic remedies.
2nd Year BHMS (18 Months)
- Pathology & Microbiology: Study of diseases, immunology, and bacteriology.
- Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT): Medical jurisprudence, medical ethics, and poisons.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica: Study of drug pictures and remedy relationships.
- Surgery: Principles of general surgery, ENT, and ophthalmology.
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG): Maternal health, Gynaecology, and infant care.
- Homoeopathic Repertory: Case taking and symptom evaluation.
3rd Year BHMS (18 Months)
- Surgery & Homoeopathic Therapeutics: Clinical surgery with homeopathic applications.
- Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Homoeopathic Therapeutics: Clinical OBG with associated homeopathic management.
- Practice of Medicine: General clinical medicine and specific disease pathology.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica: Expanded study of a broader spectrum of medicines.
- Organon of Medicine: Application of homeopathic principles in treating medical illnesses.
4th Year BHMS (18 Months)
- Practice of Medicine & Homoeopathic Therapeutics: Advanced clinical diagnosis and homeopathic management.
- Homoeopathic Materia Medica: In-depth and comparative study of polychrest and nosode remedies.
- Organon of Medicine: Prognosis, posology, and critical evaluation of homeopathic cases.
- Repertory: Advanced repertorization and case analysis.
- Community Medicine: Preventative medicine, public health, and biostatistics.
Eligibility Criteria for BHMS
- Minimum age for BAMS admission is 17 years.
- Must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB).
- Minimum 50% marks required (40% for reserved categories).
- NEET UG qualification is mandatory.
- Admission is done through counseling process.
- Document verification is required during admission.
