BHMS Course

BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) is a 5.5-year undergraduate medical degree. It trains students in holistic, homeopathic healing. The curriculum consists conventional medical sciences with homeopathic philosophy divided into 4 parts 18 months each & one-year compulsory internship, preparing graduates to become licensed medical practitioners.

The syllabus is structured sequentially by year:

1st Year BHMS (18 Months)

1. Anatomy, Histology & Embryology: Human structure, organs, regional anatomy.
2. Human Physiology & Biochemistry: Cellular physiology, bodily systems, and biochemical processes.
3. Homoeopathic Pharmacy: Principles of drug preparation, dispensing, and pharmacopoeia.
4. Organon of Medicine, Homoeopathic Philosophy & Psychology: Foundations of homeopathic logic and basic psychology.
5. Homoeopathic Materia Medica: Introduction to the fundamental properties of homeopathic remedies.

2nd Year BHMS (18 Months)

1. Pathology & Microbiology: Study of diseases, immunology, and bacteriology.
2. Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (FMT): Medical jurisprudence, medical ethics, and poisons.
3. Homoeopathic Materia Medica: Study of drug pictures and remedy relationships.
4. Surgery: Principles of general surgery, ENT, and ophthalmology.
5. Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBG): Maternal health, Gynaecology, and infant care.
6. Homoeopathic Repertory: Case taking and symptom evaluation.

3rd Year BHMS (18 Months)

1. Surgery & Homoeopathic Therapeutics: Clinical surgery with homeopathic applications.
2. Obstetrics, Gynaecology & Homoeopathic Therapeutics: Clinical OBG with associated homeopathic management.
3. Practice of Medicine: General clinical medicine and specific disease pathology.
4. Homoeopathic Materia Medica: Expanded study of a broader spectrum of medicines.
5. Organon of Medicine: Application of homeopathic principles in treating medical illnesses.

4th Year BHMS (18 Months)

1. Practice of Medicine & Homoeopathic Therapeutics: Advanced clinical diagnosis and homeopathic management.
2. Homoeopathic Materia Medica: In-depth and comparative study of polychrest and nosode remedies.
3. Organon of Medicine: Prognosis, posology, and critical evaluation of homeopathic cases.
4. Repertory: Advanced repertorization and case analysis.
5. Community Medicine: Preventative medicine, public health, and biostatistics.

Eligibility Criteria for BHMS

1. Minimum age for BAMS admission is 17 years.
2. Must have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB).
3. Minimum 50% marks required (40% for reserved categories).
4. NEET UG qualification is mandatory.
5. Admission is done through counseling process.
6. Document verification is required during admission.
